Poppy, Sunburst & Rushnyk Pysanka — a real Ukrainian goose egg, hand-painted in the traditional wax-batik technique. Red poppy blossoms with green leaves crown the top of the egg, a red-and-white "rushnyk" (woven-towel) stripe hangs down from the very top, and a dense red-and-gold diamond-lattice band is centered on a large white sunburst star medallion, with small floral accents scattered throughout.

The sunburst star, or "rozha," is one of the most recognizable sun symbols in pysanka art, the rushnyk stripe takes its name from the traditional woven ceremonial towel, and the poppy carries long-standing folk associations with remembrance and family memory.
