Purple Rushnyk & Daisy Lattice Pysanka — a real Ukrainian goose egg, hand-painted in the traditional wax-batik technique. A yellow-and-purple wave border dotted with white circles crowns the top, followed by a narrow purple rushnyk-style band with fine white notching running down the side. The rest of the shell is covered in a dense yellow-and-red diagonal lattice, filled with white diamonds carrying a fine cross pattern and small white daisy-like rosettes.
The purple accent is an uncommon touch in pysanka art, replacing the usual black background, while the rushnyk band recalls the embroidered ceremonial towels used in Ukrainian homes to bring blessing.
As each egg is painted entirely by hand, the exact placement of every line may vary slightly from the photos — this is part of what makes every pysanka one of a kind.
