Cherry & Sunburst Rushnyk Pysanka — a real Ukrainian goose egg, hand-painted in the traditional wax-batik technique. A white crown panel is wrapped in a garland of red cherries with bright highlights and green leaves. Narrow rushnyk-style bands with a fine notched lattice texture run down each side, while the rest of the shell is covered in a yellow-and-black diamond lattice, alternating plain red diamonds with black diamonds holding a golden sun-rosette.
Cherries are a folk symbol of sweetness and family joy, and the sun-rosette diamonds carry the old meaning of warmth and life-giving energy.
As each egg is painted entirely by hand, the exact placement of every line may vary slightly from the photos — this is part of what makes every pysanka one of a kind.
