Cross, Pysanka & Paska Easter Basket Cover — a hand embroidered Ukrainian basket cover in cross-stitch on white fabric, finished with brown-beige fringe at both ends. The traditional Easter greeting "Hrystos Voskres" (Christ is Risen) arches above the central scene in red thread. At the center stands a large Orthodox cross with a golden-ray halo, flanked by pussy willow branches with blue-grey catkins. Below sit two pysanka eggs in orange and brown with horizontal band patterns, and a round paska Easter bread decorated with white flowers. A traditional geometric border of eight-pointed star rosettes and floral crosses in red and dark brown frames the entire design.
This cover brings together the most important symbols of the Ukrainian Easter table — the blessed cross, the pysanka, and the paska — into a single embroidered composition, making it a meaningful centrepiece for the Paschal basket.
As each piece is embroidered entirely by hand, minor variations in stitch density or color tone may occur — this is part of what makes every cover one of a kind.
